JIMMY KIMMEL
GETS SERIOUS

Jimmy Kimmel, who (in addition to being a late-night host) is our next-door neighbor, recently welcomed a new child into the world. But his newborn son, Billy, had a heart defect that led to a harrowing ordeal for the Kimmels. Happily, the team at Children's Hospital provided expert care and Billy came through fine. But the experience caused the relieved dad to reflect on larger issues of health care in his very emotional monologue on 5/1, and we thought you should see it. (Powerful though it is, Kimmel manages to offset the difficult story with leavening humor.) We wish Jimmy and his family the best.
