THE XX SEE #1
Indie band The xx have scored their second #1 on the U.K. Official Albums Chart with I See You (Young Turks) notching up an impressive 26.5k sales. Ed Sheeran, meanwhile, enjoys a second week of massive single sales.
The xx, looked after by Caius Pawson's Beggars imprint in Blighty, push Little Mix down one place to #2 with Glory Days (Syco). The Universal-released soundtrack to La La Land, which opened in U.K. cinemas last week, rises 96 places to #3.
George Michael’s best of, Ladies & Gentlemen (Epic), holds at #4 while Ninja Tune producer Bonobo has the second independently released album in the Top 5 with Migration debuting at #5.
At Official Singles, Sheeran’s “Shape of You” (Atlantic) is #1 with 66k downloads and 11m streams, while “Castle on the Hill” is #2 with 49k downloads and 7.8m streams.
Rag'n'Bone Man's breakthrough single “Human” (Columbia) continues to hold at #3, ahead of the Jax Jones and Raye collaboration “You Don't Know Me” (Polydor), which rises five places to #4. Clean Bandit close the Top 5 with “Rockabye” (Atlantic).
Starley is up one place #7 this week with “Call on Me” (AATW), ahead of The Chainsmokers, who debut at #10 with “Paris” (RCA).
