It’s festival madness week: On the heels of the Coachella announcement, Governors Ball in New York and Napa Valley’s BottleRock have posted their lineups and Bonnaroo has sent out a “save the date” message for 1/11 when they’ll announce the bands and put tickets on sale simultaneously.
A year after Live Nation bought into Governors Ball, the festival on NYC’s Randall’s Island will feature the first performance from Tool in the city in 11 years and feature Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper, Phoneix, Cage the Elephant, Wu-Tag Clan and Lorde, who will also be appearing at Coachella. The festival runs three days—6/2-4—and tickets go on sale Friday.
Foo Fighters return to performing after a year’s hiatus to headline BottleRock, which will also feature Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on their 40th anniversary tour, which currently has one other festival stop: Mountain Jam in Hunter, N.Y. Maroon 5, Modest Mouse and Charles Bradley are also playing the Memorial Day weekend (5/26-28) festival; tickets went on sale today.
West Coasters will want to set their alarms for 5am on 1/11 when the Bonnaroo lineup will be announced. They’ve given a few clues on Twitter about who’s playing; the only one we think we have nailed is Umphrey’s McGee, but we’re not that good at guessing games.
