U.K. CHARTS: BALL AND BOE ROLL A #1

There’s no new #1 on the U.K. Official Singles Chart this week despite Louis Tomlinson/Steve Aoki and X Factor winner Matt Terry giving it a go, but there is a new victor on the Official Albums Chart as Michael Ball and Alfie Boe’s Together (Decca) continues to fly off shelves, selling more than 300k to date.

The album has reached #1 this week on a combined 96k, awarding Boe his first #1 and Ball’s first in 24 years. The set finishes 26k ahead of last week’s #1, The Rolling StonesBlue & Lonesome (Polydor), which falls to #2. The remaining Top 5 hasn't moved: Little MixGlory Days (Syco) is #3, Elvis Presley’s The Wonder of You (Sony Music CG) holds #4 and Olly Murs clocks in at #5 with 24 HRS (RCA).

On the singles chart, Clean Bandit log a sixth consecutive week at #1 with “Rockabye” f/Anne-Marie and Sean Paul (Atlantic), 15k combined sales ahead of its nearest rival.

Louis Tomlinson and Steve Aoki and Matt Terry have remained where they were on Wednesday, at #2 and #3 with “Just Hold On” (Ultra) and “When Christmas Comes Around” (Syco) respectively, despite a short week on sale. The race for the coveted Christmas #1 single is now on—will one of the above emerge victor or be shafted by a new competitor?

“Starboy” (Island) by The Weeknd f/Daft Punk is down one place to #4 and “Human” (Columbia) by Brits Critics’ Choice Rag’n’Bone Man moves up three places to #5.

After performing at the BBC Music Awards, Zara Larsson’s “I Would Like” (Black Butter) makes its Top 20 debut, shooting up nine places to #12, while Taylor Swift and ZAYN’s “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” (Virgin EMI) debuts at #16.
