GRAMMY SNUBS: WHO DIDN'T GET THE NOD?

Who got snubbed in this morning’s Grammy nominations?

Perhaps the most noteworthy omission was Alessia Cara, who certainly merited inclusion in the Best New Artist field and whose work should at least have been recognized in the Pop categories.

Shawn Mendes was also widely considered to be a BNA contender as well as a significant Pop force and was shut out.

The Weeknd’s “Starboy,” which has become a sales and streaming phenomenon, got no love—while it appeared at the very end of the eligibility period—certainly didn’t deserve the bupkis it got.

Drake’s Album of the Year nomination is richly deserved, but why was his huge hit “One Dance” neglected?

The Chainsmokers got a big BNA nod, but their “Closer” f/Halsey—the biggest song of the year—got neither ROTY nor SOTY consideration. Huh?

Justin Timberlake, previously snubbed for his blockbuster 20/20 Experience album, was this time relegated to Song Written for Visual Media for his Trolls smash, “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” Why this giant mainstream single was excluded from all major categories is an abiding mystery.

Similarly, Sia—undoubtedly one of the year’s biggest artist stories—was not nominated in any of the topline categories, though her “Cheap Thrills” f/Sean Paul mustered a Pop Duo/Group nod.

Country aficionados will certainly be wondering why Eric Church got zero noms in the genre, despite making a hugely praised album in Mr. Misunderstood. Similarly, the widely admired Margo Price got no recognition.

But hey, at least rock legend Beyoncé is finally getting her due in that category. Remember when she trashed that hotel room in Buffalo?
