JACOBSON TO HEAD
IGA'S GEFFEN

John Janick's Interscope Geffen A&M has gathered its troops in Laguna Beach for its offsite festivities (team-building, announcements, feats of strength), and word out of this gathering is that the company has tapped Neil Jacobson to serve as the new President of Geffen Records, with an eye toward reviving the storied label. Jacobson has served at Interscope since 2003, most recently as SVP A&R. It's another example of the UMG mandate to strengthen A&R on all levels. In other IGA offsite news, Steve Berman will be leading tomorrow's 6am surfing class. Bring your own sunscreen.
