HITS has partnered with BuzzAngle Music to power its charts.
We chose the company as our data partner because of their ability to produce individual reports on sales, streams, spins (the latter assisted by Mediabase) and more on a daily basis, with the ability to drill down deep based on artist, track, label, platform, region and other criteria. BuzzAngle methodology allows for more than 10 trillion combinations of reports.
BuzzAngle data currently contributes to HITS Streaming Songs and Revenue charts and will be a vital piece of future charts and reports. The information the company furnishes dwarfs what is available via SoundScan, which is why the data junkies we know are all over BuzzAngle.
We believe that this partnership will solidify our position as the leading forecaster in the biz.
Of course, they won’t help us overcome our obvious personality disorders.
“BuzzAngle is an incredible resource, and the volume and depth of their data—not to mention their daily updates—blows the competition out of the water,” said HITS Retail Editor Jamie Mitchell.
“We are very proud to announce this partnership with [CEO] Jim Lidestri and his team at BuzzAngle,” said HITS Editor in Chief Lenny Beer. “Their operation is very impressive. I hope to meet Jim someday.”
HITS Publisher Dennis Lavinthal was on vacation and unavailable for comment.
