An intriguingly cryptic billboard has emerged in Woodland Hills over the last 48 hours, one that could possibly be a harbinger for yet another surprise drop.
"Calabasas is the new Abu Dhabi" it reads, with the logos of Drake's OVO label and Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music emblazoned underneath it.
The two have long talked about a collaboration but recently Yeezy has made no secret of the fact that he wants this new mixtape to happen sooner than later. When he joined Drake onstage at his hometown party OVO Fest in Toronto last month, Ye proclaimed from the stage, "Is y’all ready for this album? I wasn't talking about Pablo. I wasn't talking about Views. I wanna ask y’all right now: Are y’all ready for this album?"
With Drake heavily entrenched in a $19m partnership with Apple Music and Kanye employing a last-minute curve from his own exclusive deal with the service to go on to release Pablo on Jay Z's Tidal—which he has been whining about since behind the scenes— it's quite possible this becomes Drake's follow-up to his other high-profile mixtape with Future, What A Time To Be Alive.
These days though, it's anyone's guess what the artists will ultimately do. Stay tuned.
