While the little monsters online are spreading rumors about Lady Gaga visiting New York radio stations and having a new album finished, Stephani herself used Twitter to announce a new single and that she’ll star in a remake of A Star is Born directed by Bradley Cooper.

As for the film Deadline has reported that Warner Bros. has given the greenlight to a remake of the—take your pick—1937 original with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, the famous 1954 version with Judy Garland and James Mason or the one that adds cocaine to plot, 1976’s Kris Kristofferson-Barbra Streisand-starrer.
It will be Gaga’s first starring role and Cooper’s directorial debut. He will also star and shooting starts early next year. Back in 2011, Beyonce was attached to the remake with Clint Eastwood directing, but she dropped out in 2012.
