THIRTY TIGERS' BOB GOLDSTONE KILLED IN BIKE ACCIDENT

Thirty Tigers partner and VP, Sales, Bob Goldstone died 7/3 after being struck by a car while bicycling near his home in Pegram, Tenn., outside Nashville. He was 67.

Thirty Tigers’ Vice President of Sales and an owner of the label, Goldstone oversaw all of the label’s physical distribution and implemented co-op and marketing initiatives at brick & mortar retail.

“His passion for music was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends,” the label said in a statement. “We’ve lost the beating, loving heart of Thirty Tigers. We’ve lost a friend, a mentor, a respected colleague and someone that loved us all so much, as we loved him.”

A veteran of record stores in Denver and the Northwest, he worked at IRS Records in marketing before heading to Nashville as VP of Sales and Marketing for Capricorn Records, breaking Widespread Panic, 311 and Cake. He moved to Mercury Nashville as National Director of Field Marketing and then became General Manager of Eminent Records.

He returned to retail as Regional Community Relations Director for Tower Records where he created events, community gatherings and a memorabilia room at Tower Opry Mills. For the last 13 years, he worked with David Macias and Deb Markland at Thirty Tigers as partner and VP of Sales.

Goldstone is survived by his wife Tami and stepdaughter Emma. Details for services are pending.
