WARNER/CHAPPELL RHYTHM & SOUL PUBCO OF THE YEAR

Warner/Chappell has been named Publisher of the Year at Thursday evening's ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards. The victory follows wins at Pop and Country Awards. Meanwhile, W/C writer Belly (aka Ahmad Balshe) has taken R&B/Hip-Hop Song of the Year for The Weeknd's "Earned It," and 26 Most Performed trophies went to pubco writers like Beyoncé, ("7/11," "Feeling Myself") Kendrick Lamar, ("All Day"), Bruno Mars ("Uptown Funk!")and Mike Will Made-It (Rae Sremmurd's "No Type," "This Could Be Us" and "Throw Some Mo").

Platt has been on the winning Rhythm & Soul team for 20 of the last 21 years, both at W/C and at EMI.

“It’s an absolute honor to work alongside these incredibly talented songwriters who defined the sound of R&B and hip-hop over the past year,” said Platt. “The ASCAP Publisher of the Year award belongs to them, and I speak for the entire Warner/Chappell staff when I say what a pleasure it is to see these remarkable songwriters work their musical and lyrical magic, and go on to top the charts and receive so many richly deserved accolades.”
