TAG, THEY'RE IT: SHAZAM'S BIGGEST MOVERS

The Shazam app is getting a healthy prison-yard workout thanks to the 6/17 return of Orange is the New Black on Netflix. Syncs on the series have driven Folk Uke’s “Motherfucker Got Fucked Up” and Eminem’s 16-year-old “Bitch Please II” into the top 3 of the Shazam USA Top 100 Biggest Movers chart.

Folk Uke’s track rose 83 slots after playing over the end credits of the season four opener. The song comes from the daughters of Willie Nelson and Arlo Guthrie—Amy Nelson and Cathy Guthrie—who started writing together after meeting while working at a restaurant. “Motherfucker Got Fucked Up” was one of their first tunes, making it appear there is an audience for lullaby rap.

“Bitch Please II,” from Eminem’s 2000 Interscope/Aftermath/Shady album The Marshal Mathers LP received its Peter Gabriel moment in a nod to Say Anything scene in the season’s third episode. Who knew they had boomboxes in prison? And is kickboxing still the sport of the future?

Mad Love/Interscope’s Torey Lanez shared his second single “Luv” on 6/10, the day he announced that his forthcoming album would be titled I Told You.

Shazamers are also catching up to Joey Bada$$’s “Devastated,” a tune the Pro Era/Cinematic Music Group rapper debuted at Coachella and dropped in late May. While no word yet on a follow-up to last year’s B4.DA.$$, he’ll be seen in season 2 of USA’s Mr. Robot.

Eminem is the second-biggest mover on the U.K. side, while D.A.N.'s "Clothes Off" got a big boost from the TV series Made in Chelsea. MØ's "Final Song," Disclosure's "Boss" and Sia's "Alive" also make big jumps.
