APPLE MUSIC HITS 15M SUBS, SPIFFS UP APP

At Apple's Worldwide Developers' Conference Monday in San Francisco, it was announced that Apple Music has hit the 15m subscribers mark (half of Spotify's total), and that a fleet of improvements to the service will come with the pending iOS 10, which goes into beta next month and will be widely available in the fall. Eddy Cue called the Music revamp a redesign "from the ground up."

The upgrade will offer lyrics (karaoke time!) as well as enhancements to radio section Beats 1; an upscaled For You focusing on new music discovery and more. Stay tuned for updates. Apple Connect, which has made little noise, has been moved into the For You section.

The ceremonies began with a moment of silence for the victims of the Orlando shooting, which Apple chief Tim Cook condemned as an "act of hatred."
