FLIPOVER FRIDAY: iTUNES AND NEW MUSIC NOTES

Big changes once again on the iTunes album chart, with Safehouse/Island’s Nick Jonas zooming to #1, followed by the first album from writer-turned-artist Jon Bellion (Capitol). Triple 8's Kaleo hold the third position on Friday morning.

Four more newcomers are on the big board: BMG veteran alt band Garbage at #5, L.A.’s Fitz & the Tantrums at #6, Band of Horses, on new label Interscope, at #8 and Epic’s KONGOS at #10. Not surprisingly, KONGOS is #1 in the band’s native South Africa.

Also bowing this week is the pan-genre (post-genre?) collab between Little Big Town and Pharrell (Capitol Nashville), which has climbed to #12.

Drilling a bit deeper, the stunning debut album from Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. tops the iTunes jazz chart and is #16 overall, in a big win for S-Curve’s Steve Greenberg and producer Joseph Abate.
