RUMOUR HAS IT SHE’S WORTH £90M

According to The Sun, Adele is reportedly set to sign a worldwide £90m record deal with Sony—the biggest ever landed by a British musician, ending her relationship with Richard Russell’s XL. Interesting bit of info, but it’s not news—the deal was signed last year.

For the record, the report also states that the superstar’s XL deal has expired, and Sony has made her the very lucrative offer to sign to them worldwide, which was negotiated by manager Jonathan Dickins.

In the U.S, Adele is said to be going through Rob Stringer’s Columbia, as we reported months ago, with her U.K. label yet to be revealed.

£90m is said to be a record-breaking amount for a U.K. artist, and follows Robbie Williams’ £80m for his EMI deal in 2002 and Sir Elton John’s £42m with PolyGram in 1996.

In truth, Adele got $50m advance and $10m guarantee going forward, but with the ability to earn more based on sales of her previous records. What the story got right is that it’s a worldwide deal, beginning with her next record.
