TRAINOR LEAPS TO #1 AT iTUNES

On the heels of her tumble after a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Epic’s Meghan Trainor is standing tall at #1 on the iTunes chart this morning. Thank You, Trainor’s second album, has shot past Drake’s Views (at #2) and Beyonce’s Lemonade (now #3) on its first day of release.

Besides Trainor, 5/13 releases occupy five other slots in the Top 10. Pierce the Veil’s first new album in four years, Misadventures (Fearless), is at #4; Cloud Nine, the debut from RCA's tropical house king Kygo, is at #5; and Big Machine’s Jennifer NettlesPlaying With Fire, her second solo album, is burning up at #8. Sawyer Fredericks, season 8 winner of The Voice, sees his Republic debut A Good Storm blow in at #9, and Corinne Bailey Rae’s The Heart Speaks in Whispers (Virgin) commandeers the 10th spot.

Radiohead’s XL release A Moon Shaped Pool (#5) and Keith Urban’s Ripcord (Hit Red/Capitol) round out the Top 10.

On the singles side, Justin Timberlake's new monster (RCA) holds at #1, followed by YMCMB/Republic's Drake, while two country breakouts, from Florida Georgia Line (Republic Nashville/BMLG) and Urban, sit in the Top 5. "Don't Let Me Down" by Disruptor/Columbia's The Chainsmokers, about whom you can read more here, is also Top 5 as of this writing.
