AND NOW THIS: TINA'S GOT BIG NEWS

Former MTV exec Tina Exharos has joined social-network news publisher Now This Media as CMO; she'll also serve as marketing advisor to VC firm Lerer Hippeau Ventures, which provided seed funding for Now This. She'll report to Now This Chairman and LHV managing partner Ken Lerer.

Founded in 2012, NYC-based Now This specializes in providing video news to users' feeds on social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. It has raised $27m in funding. The company asserts that it generates 1.6 billion + video views monthly, with upwards of 8b monthly overall impressions. NowThis News has been a Digital Trends app of the week and a Webby Award nominee; the company was rated a start-up to watch by Business Insider.

Lerer said Exharos' "knowledge and experience will be invaluable to both organizations, especially at this pivotal point in the growth of NowThis."

Exharos served for almost 30 years at MTV, the last 15 of those as CMO overseeing marketing and creative development.
