A MUSEUM IN PAISLEY PARK'S FUTURE?

Paisley Park is looking to go the Graceland route.

Plans are afoot to turn Prince’s recording studio/estate into a museum, according to former bandmate/paramour Sheila E. and Prince’s brother-in-law.

"We're hoping to make Paisley what [Prince wanted] it to be. [He] was working on it being a museum," Sheila E. told Entertainment Tonight. "He's been gathering memorabilia and stuff from all the tours, like my drums and his motorcycle."

The halls of Paisley Park are lined with awards and photographs and a mural that Sheila described as Prince “with his hands out and on one side is all the people he was influenced by and the other side is all of us who have played with him... It's beautiful."

While those close to the musician, who died 4/21 at the age of 57, claim to know his intentions, there is currently no will indicating Prince wanted a museum created.

Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson has asked the Carver County District Court to appoint her as a special administrator, saying he did not leave a will disclosing the distribution of his assets. In her petition, listed Prince’s five half-siblings as heirs.

Still, Prince’s brother-in-law Maurice Phillips told The Sun unequivocally, “We will turn Paisley Park into a museum in Prince’s memory. It would be for the fans. He was all about the fans — this would remember his music, which is his legacy. Prince was always private but would have wanted his music remembered.”
