Columbia has blown away all label marketshare records with a mind-blowing 63.55% of the frontline albums market and 48.65% of the overall albums market.

We’re scrambling to determine the previous record; stay tuned. And while we're at it, we'll try to figure out the last time Def Jam finished with such a generous slice of the pie.

No records will be broken a week from now, but Columbia will almost certainly be the runaway winner in both metrics once again. At present, Adele's estrogen-powered 25 is looking like 850-875k for week two.
