POST: IRVING BASHES BIBLE SURVEY

Irving Azoff is the latest industry figure to condemn the bible’s recent “confidential survey.” The New York Post's Page Six reports that Azoff was “appalled” by the survey, which asked respondents to speculate not only on whether Justin Bieber would wind up on a “reality show” but also on the lurid details of the Dr. Luke/Ke$ha case.

The results of the survey will ostensibly be printed in the bible’s 9/19 issue; the questions have been taken down, but a screen cap can be found here.

“If Billboard wants to survey the music industry,” Azoff told the Post’s Emily Smith, “they should ask people in the biz what they think about their publication. Maybe then they’d understand how fully they’ve turned a formerly respected brand into an irrelevant joke.”

Smith also quotes another industry insider, who declared, “The details of the [Kesha/Dr. Luke] case are so terrible, it is offensive to ask anyone to speculate on it for a gossipy survey.”

A Billboard spokesperson is quoted in the story, asserting, “We are aware of the personal grousings of Irving Azoff about Billboard and are sorry he won’t be filling out the survey.”

This remark prompted a pointed reply from Azoff. “Their reckless statement to Page Six about me and the inappropriate subject matter of their so-called survey,” he said, “are a new low, even for them."
