EU: NO COLLUSION BETWEEN LABELS, APPLE

The EU has found no evidence of collusion between the majors and Apple in the wars over "freemium," according to reports, despite the claims of Spotify and others. The EU's investigators have said they will keep the files open for the time being.

Separately, the EU is probing Apple's online app store while, stateside, the FTC looks into possible antitrust issues regarding Cupertino's use of the portal to sell apps from its competitors, such as Spotify, at a markup.

Spotify had been vocal about alleged coordination between the majors and Apple to target freemium as Apple Music was preparing to launch.
