The Top 5 Highest Grossing Films Domestically

Despite mixed reviews, Seth MacFarlane's Ted 2 scored the highest-grossing debut this week, landing at #3. Meanwhile, Jurassic World proves it just ain't messing around, holding at #1 for a third week. The film has broken another record, as it's now the fastest to pass the $500m mark domestically. Taking a mere 17 days, it races past 2012's Avengers, which did so in 23.

1. Jurassic World (Universal) $54m 4,198/$12,911 avg. (week 3)
2. Inside Out (Buena Vista) $52m 4,132/$12,616 avg. (week 2)
3. Ted 2 (Universal) $33m 3,442/$9,587 avg. (debut)
4. Max (Warner Bros.) $12m 2,855/$4,277 avg. (debut)
5. Spy (Fox) $7.8m 3,194/$2,442 avg. (week 4)

At #13, Fox Searchlight's Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, a sweet coming-of-age drama darkened by tragedy, sees a strong 175% bump in its third week.
