The 11th annual Songs of Hope goes down on 6/11 at the L.A. home of Ron Fair (aka House of Fair); Clive Davis, Burt Bacharach, Sony/ATV, UMPG and Electronic Arts are among the sponsors and honorees.
In addition to honoring songwriters and composers, the event benefits City of Hope and its tireless work to advance research about and treatment of cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
The event is co-chaired by Spirit Music Group Chairman David Renzer, The Davis Firm founder/head Doug Davis, UMPG's Evan Lamberg and Electronic Arts' Steve Schnur.
Clive will present Bacharach with the Legend in Songwriting Award; artist Charli XCX will receive the Martin Bandier Vanguard Award; and EA's Composer Award will go to film composer Christophe Beck (Frozen).
Renzer notes that since its inception, Songs of Hope has raised more than $3 million to support the COH's efforts.
"As a cancer survivor, I believe it is imperative to raise funds to continue City of Hope's compassionate patient care and groundbreaking research," Doug Davis said, adding that the co-chairing the event "is extra special for me" as it allows him to work closely with his dad.
"We are foremost a community," added Schnur, "and we invite that community to join us and make a collective difference. It will be a night to remember, guaranteed."
