YE JOLLY OLDE iTUNES U.K. CHARTS

The Various Artists trend continues in Britain, with collections taking up the first six slots as well as #10, sandwiching Sia, Hozier and Alabama Shakes. The latter, on Rough Trade over there, is one of two albums appearing in both the U.K. and U.S. Top 10s; the other is, of course, the Furious 7 ST. Of the comps—three apiece from Ministry of Sound and the NOW franchise—the most unexpected is Now That’s What I Call Running; we did not realize Brits worked out. But the allure of 66 hits for £11.99 likely extends to couch potatoes.

Singles-wise, both Clean Bandit and Major Lazer have new entries on the big board; Lazer’s super-catchy electro-pop tune “Lean On” is a Mad Decent U.K. release featuring Sony Music signee , a Danish singer/songwriter who sang with Iggy Azalea on SNL last October. Dunno about you, but we learned something today.
