It sounds like a classic sitcom premise: NYC pub exec is dispatched to Nashville, and has a series of hilarious fish-out-of-water adventures! We rather imagine that Sony/ATV's Mark Abramowitz will swim admirably, however, in his new post as Manager, A&R/Creative--where he'll be the first major pubco A&R stationed in Nashville to specialize in NON-Country music (that we know of, anyway). Sony/ATV ruler Marty Bandier described Abramowitz, who'll be reporting to Co-President Danny Strick, as "a rising A&R star." Look for further details in our Pub Crawling column later on this week.
