Martin Kierszenbaum's Cherrytree Records is celebrating its 10-year anniversary, and the Interscope-distributed label's festivities have thus far included a concert at NYC's Webster Hall featuring artists Feist, Far East Movement and Ivy Levan, among others (with Kierszenbaum playing a bit of bass), as well as an iTunes Spotlight On feature.
Cherrytree's roster includes Ellie Goulding, Disclosure, Sting, La Roux, Robyn, Royksopp and LMFAO, and the label has released albums by Lady Gaga and The Police. Kierszenbaum, a serious multitasker who co-penned a song on the new Madonna album and also runs publishing and management concerns) says he modeled Cherrytree on innovative majors like A&M and punk-era insurrectionists like Stiff Records.
