Wednesday night’s the night for Scott Borchetta’s debut on American Idol as the show’s new in-house Mentor, where he’ll sit in a chair once occupied by fellow entrepreneur Jimmy Iovine. We’re told the Big Machine Label Group mogul will guide the contestants throughout the competition, but his work will extend beyond the show’s finale when the winner receives a record deal with—you got it—Big Machine Records.
