YOUNG LOWERY’S A SEASONED EXEC

At Epic, Courtney Lowery has been upped to VP Publicity, as EVP Media & Strategic Development Laura Swanson, who recently returned to Cali, tweaks her team.

“I’m such a huge fan of Courtney’s, and I continue to be impressed with his limitless creativity and passion for the artists and their music,” says Swanson. “Courtney has a depth of knowledge for all aspects of media and his resourcefulness and imagination for each and every artist campaign is inspiring. He has truly earned the trust and respect from his peers, everyone here at the label, and most importantly, from our artists.”

Lowery, who notes that he’s spent more than a third of his life at Epic, feels “the strongest possible relationship with the company’s stellar roster of artists and our amazing team of executives. I continue to learn every day from L.A. Reid, Sylvia Rhone and Laura Swanson, and I look forward to doing my part to keep Epic at the forefront of everything happening in music today.”

Lowery began his career as an intern in 2004 at the Sony Urban Music division, which consolidated the urban acts at Columbia and Epic. He’d been SVP at Epic since Reid’s arrival in 2011. Courtney has some graduate credits in clinical psychology, which must come in handy in his present occupation.
