It's a Grammy performance!
It's a Target ad!
Cool it, you two! It's both. Yep, KidinaKorner/Interscope's Imagine Dragons turned in an electric performance of "Shots" during last night's telecast in what turned out to be an ad for Target. The superstore's logo stayed onscreen throughout the song (which the band taped in Vegas), along with the hashtag #MoreMusic.
And like many effective ads, the spot worked like a charm, propelling the tune from the 90s into the 20s at iTunes.
We can't recall the line between show performance and commercial blurring like this before. But we imagine this won't be the last time it happens.
