SALES UPDATE: TOP 10 TRACKS

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” just keeps getting more massive, busting through the 3m plateau in the week ending Sunday. And while some of the longer-running hits appear to be showing some fatigue, several newer cuts are making bids to take their place. These include Roc Nation’s Rihanna and her heavy friends, up 160% in week two, a rare occurrence; Ellie Goulding’s contribution to Republic’s buzzing Fifty Shades of Grey ST (+26%); and hit machine Pitbull’s latest, with Ne-Yo riding shotgun (+27%), giving RCA two entries on the big board, along with Ronson.

Bubbling under, as the bible used to put it in its Old Testament days, is a fresh batch of “Truffle Butter” whipped up by Nicki Minaj, dextrously assisted by Drake and Lil Wayne, moving #50-11 on 72k in week two, with a 162% uptick.

The current sales week will, of course, get a shot of adrenaline before and during Sunday night’s festivities, though it’ll be the following weeks sales tally that more fully reflects consumer reaction to the big show.

1. Mark Ronson f/Bruno Mars, “Uptown Funk!” – 364k
