Here's Lucian

EAT YOUR VEGGIES: Lucian Grainge gave his first comments to the Wall Street Journal following the formal announcement of his ascension to UMG CEO (see story), saying, "My priority is to maintain the balance between creativity and profitability. Our future is about building scale with new business partners and new business models." Grainge also said he supports an anti-Internet piracy law passed in France stipulating that offenders have their Internet connections cut off after receiving two warnings: "I am a fan of tasty carrots and big sticks. Music downloading has to be legal. It is as simple as that." (2/10a)
