Bronfman on iTunes variable pricing

TIMING IS EVERYTHING: While Bronfman noted that the institution of variable pricing has been a “net positive” for WMG, the 30% price increase ''probably couldn't have come at a worse time,'' with the economy in the midst of a recession. Indeed, unit sales growth at iTunes has slowed from 11% in the June quarter (variable pricing kicked in during April) to 5% in the most recent quarter, ending Dec. 31. (2/11a)
