GABRIEL ON TAP: Peter Gabriel’s covers album, Scratch My Back, will come out on March 2 via Dominic Pandiscia’s EMI Label Services, with EMI Music releasing the album on Virgin outside the U.S. last Monday (2/15). The project has been marked with a series of double-A digital singles pairing one of the songs from Gabriel’s album, with that artist covering one of Peter’s songs. Gabriel’s version of “The Boy in the Bubble” is paired with Paul Simon’s version of “Biko” (2/28), Gabriel’s take on Bon Iver’s “Flume” with Iver’s cover of “Come Talk to Me” (3/30), Gabriel doing Lou Reed’s “The Power of the Heart,” with Reed tackling “Solsbury Hill” (4/28). There will also be an online remix contest with the release of Gabriel’s Not One Of Us through his Real World Remixed, which allows the reassembly of the singer/songwriter’s repertoire. (2/17p)
