EMI vs. Citigroup

ALL HANDS ON DECK: The Terra Firma-Citigroup showdown over EMI Music continues to move inexorably forward, with the site of the court case still to be decided between New York and London. Terra Firma's Guy Hands, a tax exile whose official residence is the Channel Islands, would prefer the trial take place in N.Y. since he's limited in the time he can spend in England. EMI insiders are talking up the possibility of Hands doubling down by writing a check for some $180 million, which makes sense because it means they’d be able to keep their jobs. (2/17p)
