MOJO RISIN’: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will release their first studio album in eight years this spring. Mojo, the legendary band’s 12th studio album, is said to contain some of Petty and company’s most exhilarating music more than three decades into their career. In a thoroughly modern move, everyone who buys ducats to their summer tour of North America will receive a download of the LP, getting two tracks, “First Flash of Freedom” and “Good Enough,” right away. “Good Enough” is currently streaming exclusively on TomPetty.com; click here to listen. Special guests on the Live Nation-produced tour, which kicks off May 6 in Raleigh, NC, will include a mix of appearances by My Morning Jacket, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Joe Cocker, ZZ Top and Drive-By Truckers. On top of that, fans who purchase tickets online and download Mojo will receive eight tracks recorded during the 2010 tour, to be delivered when it concludes. Cool. (2/26a)
