Crash Kings #1 Alternative

CRASHING ALTERNATIVE RADIO: We don’t often use Universal Motown and alternative in the same sentence, but this week, thanks to the label’s PoMo goddess Stephanie Harty, Crash Kings’ “Mountain Man” scored the label’s first-ever #1 hit at the format…which has label head Sylvia Rhone and promo chief Todd Glassman breathing some rarified air. The L.A. punk-trio was discovered by songwriter Linda Perry, who placed them on her Custard label, before auditioning for Rhone, who signed them. (3/29p)
