TIGER BEAT: Tiger Woods is back on the golf course...and in TV commercials. On Wednesday afternoon, a day before the first round of the Masters, Nike debuted a spot featuring that familiar visage peering out from under the brim of his Nike cap. The ad shows Tiger in close-up as he's questioned by the voice of his late father, with flash bulbs popping. "I want to find out what your thinking was, I want to find out what your feelings are, and, did you learn anything?" Earl Woods asks as Tiger stares blankly into the camera. While former Woods backers Accenture and AT&T dumped him in the wake of the scandal, Nike has been his steadiest corporate supporter, AdAge.com points out, in part because its entire golf business—little more than an afterthought before Tiger came along—is so closely identified with him.
