Pattinson as Cobain?

CINEMA FRIENDLY UNIT SHIFTER: Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson will be cast as Kurt Cobain in an upcoming Nirvana biopic, according the U.K.'s The Sun. The paper says Pattinson was contacted for the role by Courtney Love, who also wants Scarlett Johansson to play her. But Love's manager, Jonathan Daniel, told SPIN.com, "That's an amazing story, and the first I've heard of any of this. Courtney likes Scarlett Johansson as an actress and as a person, so it wouldn't surprise me if she wanted her to play her. I'm not sure she knows who R Patz is, but he sure is cute." Daniel did confirm, however, that a production deal with Universal does exist. The film's working title is reportedly Heavier Than Heaven, based onthe book of the same name by music journalist Charles R. Cross. (4/12a)
