BE THE BEATLES: A one-day open casting call for The Beatles Sessions, a new play featuring a re-staging of the Fab Four’s legendary recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios, will take place in L.A. on May 12, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at SIR (6465 Sunset Blvd., Stage 5). Candidates should arrive at 10 a.m. and sign in, with picture or resume, and have two-three songs prepared for the individual Beatle they want to audition for. The show, with the band's longtime engineer Geoff Emerick serving as Music Producer, is slated to open Oct. 10 at the brand-new 500-seat Soundstage Theater on L.A.’s famed Paramount Studios lot. The show is looking for individuals who “sound like” one of the four Beatles, though they don’t necessarily have to look like them. Emerick will recreate the recording process of the band in the studio, taking the audience through 10 years of musical history, engineering each note as he did on virtually every Beatles album.
