AWK's crib

ANDY’S CRIB: Andrew W.K.’s Midtown Manhattan pad got featured in yesterday’s N.Y. Daily News. “It was always my dream to live in a skyscraper,” said A.W.K., who rents a 1,650-square-foot, $8,000-per-month, 39th-floor corner apartment high above Bryant Park. There are views galore, starting with a cinematic view of the Empire State Building looming in the near distance. He’s constructed a small-scale, mostly soundproof “studio built for one” in the center of the apartment that’s outfitted with computers, keyboards and a full wall of memorabilia. It’s where he does most of his recording, usually at odd hours. W.K. and his wife, performance artist Cherie Lily, have lived there for around three years. “I spend all my time here,” he says. “I’m trying to get my money’s worth. I actually never like to have people over. Two people, maybe. It’s just too much. That’s why you go out.” (5/14a)
