Glee's Starmaking Machinery

GLEE'S STARMAKING MACHINERY: With the fourth compilation of Glee hitting stores tomorrow, Sony Music is now strategizing on how to break the show’s individual talents. While Matthew Morrison has already signed with David Massey at Mercury, Lia Michele looks like the first priority for Rob Stringer and company, who prefer the Broadway star go in the “Kelly Clarkson” pop vein rather than “Barbra Streisand” show tunes. The company is also considering the crafting of a pop, rather than R&B, career, for plus-sized Amber Riley (Mercedes), while insiders say the real wild-card could be the flamboyant, formerly mohawked Mark Salling who, as the irrepressible Puck, performed a spot-on version of Sammy Davis Jr.’s “Lady is a Tramp” on last week’s show. The Glee tour hits the Gibson Amphitheater at Universal City Walk on Thursday. (5/17p)
