Sony Music Power Plays

CAN’T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG? Today’s N.Y. Post Page Six follows up last week’s Peter Lauria story in The Daily Beast over the alleged jockeying for power between RCA/Jive’s Barry Weiss and Columbia/Epic’s Rob Stringer as the successor to Sony Music head Rolf Schmidt-Holtz. The article today says the rivalry now includes Weiss guy COO Ivan Gavin and Stringer’s "right-hand man," Columbia chief Steve Barnett, claiming the two “nearly came to blows” at the recent label Grammy party.
