ELLEN THE MUSIC MOGUL: Talk show host and American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres is taking her new role as musical mentor seriously. She has just launched her own record label, eleveneleven, signing 12-year-old YouTube sensation Greyson Chance as its first artist. The Edmond, OK, native posted a video of himself playing the piano and singing Lady Gaga’s hit, “Paparazzi,” at a sixth grade music festival. He appeared on Ellen’s show May 13, sparking world-wide interest in the video, which has now been viewed more than 20 million times. Chance also posted a pair of videos playing original compositions, “Stars” and “Broken Hearts.” Ellen’s label will be distributed by Interscope, while Madonna manager Guy Oseary and Gaga manager Troy Carter will co-manage the youngster.
