Korn Boycotts BP Oil On Tour

KORN POPS WITHOUT BP OIL: Korn has launched a boycott against BP for its role in the Gulf oil spill by refusing to use the company’s gasoline while on tour this summer, and encourages other artists to do the same. “The daily images are hard to watch,” says Korn frontman Jonathan Davis. “We need to do our part to send a message to corporations like BP so that they will take more preventative measures in the future. The more costly their punishment, the more money they will spend to make sure disasters like this don’t happen again.” The artwork for Korn’s upcoming album, Korn III—Remember Who You Are, its first for Roadrunner, on July 13, references the band’s struggle to escape its Bakersfield, CA, hometown, and its bleak landscape littered with oil rigs. Korn is currently headlining the third annual Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. (6/9p)
