Chrissie Hynde Inks with Rocket Science

HYNDE AND GO SEEK: Chrissie Hynde’s new group, JP, Chrissie and the Fairground Boys, release their new album Fidelity! Aug. 24 on their own La Mina Records through Kevin Day’s Rocket Science Ventures. The album, a collaboration between the Pretenders’ leader Hynde and Welsh singer-songwriter JP Jones, was recorded in London and mixed in Santa Monica, CA by Bob Clearmountain. The album’s 11 songs trace the evolution of a romance, from passion and desire to sadness and acceptance. As Hynde sings in “Perfect Lover”: “I found my perfect lover but he’s only half my age/He was learning how to stand when I was wearing my first wedding band.” The first single is “If You Let Me.” The band will announce a major fall U.S. tour.
