WEEZER ON THE WEB: With Weezer’s new album Hurley now out on Epitaph, the band infiltrated YouTube, appearing in videos with 14 leading online celebs, recording in excess of 5 million views in the process. The band previously employed YouTube stars on their 2008 album in the Grammy-winning video for “Pork and Beans.” “We always like to think of new ways to get the word out to people when we have a new record,” said the band’s Rivers Cuomo. Among the participants were Ray Williams Johnson and AutoTune the News (both embedded below), as well as Fred, Hot for Words, The Key of Awesome, DaveDays and Onision. (9/16p)
