DiSanto Splits MTV

MTV PROGRAMMING CHIEF SPLITS: In another late-breaking Friday story, MTV head of original programming Tony DiSanto, credited with the creation of Jersey Shore, is leaving the company after a 20-year stint to focus more on production. DiSanto will continue to produce shows with MTV, and is reportedly considering joining Electus, ex-NBC programming chief Ben Silverman's new production company that's working on an interactive telenovella with MTV. DiSanto will take Liz Gately, his top development executive, with him. DiSanto's executive producer credits include MTV shows Human Giant, The Andy Milonakis Show and Paris Hilton: My New BFF.
