LIVIN’ LA VEVO LOCA: iPad users can now download Vevo HD, a beautiful app offering you access to all 25k videos in Vevo’s catalog—no Flash required. The app, which made its debut this week, prompted USA Today to take stock of the service, which saw a tremendous year of growth that catapulted it to #4 among the most popular video websites. Said Vevo topper Rio Caraeff, "We wanted to figure out what the key (was) to building a business without taking anything away from the fan," and YouTube was "where the action was. We wanted to tap into that audience." Launched last December, the site now gets about 51 million monthly viewers. Each month, there are more than 500 million views of videos on the site. And Vevo was the 19th-most-visited website overall in November, according to ComScore Media Metrix. (12/17a)
