JERSEY SHORE MAKING WAVES: MTV’s season three premiere of Jersey Shore delivered a staggering total of 8.45 million total viewers, averaging an 8.3 p 12-34 with 6.5 million viewers in that demo. It was the network’s most watched series telecast ever, delivering more p12-34 viewers than any broadcast or cable TV show this season, except for sporting events. The audience for the premiere was 63% higher than the season two debut (8.3 vs. 6.1), and 46% over last year’s average (8.3 vs. 5.7). Snooki and The Situation are now officially more popular than Jesus. (1/7p)
