MUSICARES ABOUT STREISAND: Barbra Streisand was honored at Friday night’s celeb-studded MusiCares Person of the Year dinner at the L.A. Convention Center. She was introduced by Prince, who’d been sitting quietly in the audience, along with 2,500 other industry execs and superstars such as Elvis Costello and wife Diana Krall, Sidney Poitier, Quincy Jones, Sam Moore and Judy Collins. At the table, the guest of honor was surrounded by family and friends—husband James Brolin, son Jason Gould and songwriters Marilyn and Alan Bergman, with David Foster, Cornell West, L.A. Reid, Joel Katz, Martin Bandier, Rosanna Arquette and James Newton Howard and Mo Ostin also on hand. Sony Music’s Rob Stringer and Columbia's Steve Barnett led the music group contingent, with her longtime A&R exec Jay Landers and producer Tommy LiPuma. Phil Ramone’s production backed Streisand, whose 25-minute solo performance included hits like “The Way We Were,” “Happy Days Are Here Again," “Make Someone Happy” and the Bergmans’ “I’ll Never Say Goodbye.” (2/13a)
